Holy Ouch? Does anyone Think We Can Advance?
I think it was Jim Mora who coined the phrase, "Playoffs? Playoffs? We are just trying to win a game!" Welcome to the world of a Vikings fan. Man, we have had some serious meltdowns in some serious games (Super Bowls and NFC Championships) but nothing compares to this years Vikings Meltdown. What a colossal disappointment this season has been, starting out 6-0 and going 1-5 since. What the hell is happening? After yesterday's 48-17 ass whipping in St. Louis (Hey NFL, when do we get those punks at the Metrodome?) it appears that we are heading down a path that has been travelled before by Vikes and their fans. I know, I know, if someone told me at the beginning of the season that we'd 7-5 an in first place in December, I would have "taken it," but starting out 6-0, and then just "BLOWING IT?" C'mon...

I am not one to give up or quit, though. And eventhough it appears that no one over at Winter Park has a clue anymore, this team is in fact still in first place with 4 games left. There are no DOMINANT NFC teams, so there still is a chance. When we sneak into the playoffs, (and it would be a HUGE F-up if we didn't, even as a wildcard) maybe that's when the team will decide to start playing and kick everybody elses ass for once? But I digress... It's time for another tailgate party! This week the 7-5 Vikes take on the 8-4 Seahawks. Fantasy owners, make sure you start Shaun Alexander. 'Nuff said.

Bad News:
The goalposts are broke! Once again our friend the gusty wind spanked the goalposts out of commission early in the days tailgate. Someone needs to buy some sandbags and contribute them to the tailgate cause. I am not sure if these will be repaired our not in time for the Seattle game, but we'll try. I will be out all next week in Hartford, CT (for work) so if anyone wants to volunteer their goalpost repair skills, please get in touch with me.
