Losing: The Viking Super Bowl Experience This is a comprehensive video of the Vikings Super Bowl experience; not fun- some would even call it "Nordic Choking." Super Bowl Touchdowns In Super Bowl IV against Kansas City, Running Back Dave Osborne bulled in from a short distance for this first TD in Vikings Super Bowl history. In Super Bowl VIII vs. Miami, Hall of Fame QuarterbackFran Tarkenton snuck into the end zone and took some dings along the way to spoil a Dolphins shut-out early in the 4th Quarter. In Super Bowl IX, the Vikings special teams scored big when Matt Blair stuffed this punt and Terry Brown picked it up and ran it in. In Super Bowl XI against the Raiders, Fran Tarkenton found NFL Rookie of Year Sammie White open for this TD Pass. With the outcome of the game well in hand, the Vikings rallied for this late TD pass from back up QB Bob Lee to Tight End Stu Voight.

So here it is, the Saga of a Vikings Fan's nightmares on Super Bowl Sunday. If you're a loyal follower of the Purple, and are over the age 30 you already understand the agony of an 0-4 record in the Super Bowl! This historical archive might be very painful for you, but it is necessary to share our history with all the "Generation Y" and "Echo Boomer" kids out there who have not shared the pain of a Super Bowl loss.

Before there was Janet Jackson flashing hear breast at a halftime show, the Super Bowl was just another Big Game at the end of the NFL season. Marching Bands played at halftime, and the pregame show was only a few hours long. The average purple people eater defensive lineman was the same size as our starting QB in 2004.

If you are one of the lucky few NFL fans who follow a team who has won the "Super Bowl", then these personal notes on each Viking loss might give you an appreciation of what it is like to be on the losing end.
