Vikings Game Info | Week 4

The Vikings game gets rolling on Sunday, October 4th. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT, meaning you’ve got a nap window after lunch. Due to the game taking place inside of U.S. Bank Stadium, the weather won’t be a factor.

The Dolphins are a hapless and helpless football team. For the most part, that’s exactly what the team is trying to achieve: terrible incompetence.

Very seldom, if ever, does a team so nakedly tank. Miami is digesting a monstrous $183,632,569 in dead money for the current season, per Over the Cap. In fairness, a true reset was likely needed. Rolling with a new leadership crew — complete with a fresh top option at GM, HC, and QB — means that embracing change makes sense.

Still, this is an odd one. Jeff Diamond — the former Vikings GM who now writes for Vikings Territory — thinks Brian Flores is going to want to get back at his former team. If so, then things could get ugly.

A top story moving into the weekend has been Justin Jefferson’s ankle injury. Note that the WR1 isn’t the only one to have a health concern in the Twin Cities.

Jordan Mason’s ongoing absence has been tough. Chuck Demmings has his hamstring problem and so does Brett Thorson. Worse yet, Josh Oliver is done for a long time due to needing surgery on his bicep.

But then there’s the most glaring problem: Kyler Murray’s incompetence so far. Some of the poor play could be explained due to not playing a ton over the past while (due to injury in each of 2025 and 2026). Seeing him struggle against the Dolphins would lead to whispers of Kevin O’Connell’s quarterback (in)competence.
