What’s up Vikings fans!! Well week 1 of the 2021 season is over and we are 0-1, but so is the rest of the NFC North, so we are in good shape still. We showed flashes of brilliance, but there is a lot of work to do if we want to be playoff ready come January. That being said, I want to share something awesome with you! Apocalypse Manufacturing is known for the fact that they create some great conversions for off-road vehicles. Recently, they created a 6×6 conversion for the Jeep Wrangler. Now they’ve developed their own 6×6 version of the RAM TRX, similar to what Hennessey has done. This was designed to add some much-needed features into the mix, and it pushes the boundaries in an impressive manner. Here we take a look at both incarnations of the 6×6 TRX.
The Warlord – Apocalypse Manufacturing
This conversion is for the 6×6 version of the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX. The price is around $250,000, which is three times the price of a regular TRX. The Warlord is interesting because it comes with a very distinctive Apocalypse designed middle axle. It also has a custom rear frame made from steel. On top of that, it also has 6 wheels and a bed mounted spare. It has 37-inch mud terrain tires standard, but you can also go up to 40-inches tires.
It’s even possible to add other accessories like thermal night vision, LED underbody lighting, larger tires and many others. Personally, I’d replace the bumpers with ADD Offroad’s line of PRO Bolt-On TRX Front and Rear Bumpers. It helps push your experience to new heights, and that alone really helps make the process better and more cohesive.
Even if it does have some changes on the outside, the car is stock under the hood. The HEMI 6.2-liter V8 engine from the stock TRX reaches 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, however this is not a stock vehicle. It’s hard to know how the added axle and wheels will affect the overall performance. It’s most likely slower since it’s heavier, but this is still a great experience to be had and the car is very powerful.
Mammoth 6×6 – Hennessey Performance
Hennessey Performance is opening orders on the Mammoth 6×6 Ram TRX, which boasts a specially tuned 1200 horsepower 7.0-liter Hellephant engine. The interesting thing is that there are only 3 of these made, and they will cost $500,000 apiece. But they are bringing in some really interesting new features into the mix. The Mammoth 6×6 will be a six wheeled 3-axel version of the 2021 RAM, and it’s a very powerful vehicle to begin with.
Even if the original vehicle had somewhere around 700 HP, the final result will bring the unit to 1200 HP. Simply put, this is a monster of a vehicle, and it’s set to bring in some rather amazing features to begin with. That’s the thing that really makes it well worth the investment. Aside from getting more wheels, you also have better LED lights, new bumpers, a much better off-road suspension and all the things that can make off-roading amazing.
One thing is certain, these new versions are incredible and really stand out when it comes to power, quality, and over-the-top tomfoolery. It’s definitely something you want to check out and explore, and the potential is nothing short of staggering. That alone is going to pay off incredibly well, since these new versions are outstanding off-road vehicles with lots of power that will catch the eye of anyone to behold it.
