Vikings Postgame Report: Vikings Fall 27-20 To The Chiefs, Shift Sights To Chicago | KC | Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the Vikings Postgame Report. The Vikings fought to the end but drop to 1-4 with a 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Vikings were playing catchup from the beginning of the game but went into Halftime tied 13-13. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a couple of touchdowns in the 3rd Quarter, which proved to be the difference in the game. quarterback Kirk Cousins kept the Vikings alive, finishing the game 29 of 47 for 289 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Jordan Addison caught the second touchdown of his career and running back Alexander Mattison added the other.  Defensively, the tandem of Danielle Hunter and Marcus Davenport were able to get to Mahomes a couple of times in the game.  Veterans Harrison Smith and Jordan Hicks combined for 20 tackles in the game and were all over the field. The Vikings will now prepare for another road game, this time in the Windy City versus the Chicago Bears. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich recap the game, including: the illusiveness of Patrick Mahomes, the missed opportunities on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, the noticeable efforts by Jordan Hicks and Ivan Pace Jr., and the Chiefs gameplan against Justin Jefferson. Plus, head coach Kevin O’Connell and quarterback Kirk Cousins both spoke to the media at the postgame press conference. All of this and more is in the 2023 Week 5 edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.
