Tailgating Ideas – Stories – Viking Bars

To a certain extent, the Vikings game has been drowned out by the J.J. McCarthy trade news. Or, at least, a good portion of the week felt that way due to all of the takes on that (misguided) move. Alas, the NFL continues to march on. Consider last week’s collection of questions alongside the correct […]
Tasking Kyler Murray with being a pocket passer who operates from under center may create some issues. After all, he’s a 5’10” passer who has spent most of his past playing in systems that are different from the Kevin O’Connell scheme. As a result, Jeff Diamond has advocated for an adjusted approach. Consider what Minnesota’s […]
Where art thou, Elijah Williams? The 24-year-old Vikings d-lineman has supporters aplenty around the team. What’s been odd about 2026 is that he hasn’t yet played. In fact, he’s not even dressing, being inactive across the opening three games of the Vikings’ season. Williams is therefore being left in the dust since he’s so far […]
Ex-Vikings linebacker Brian Asamoah should still be playing for the Minnesota Vikings. Opting for the speedy defender in the 3rd Round of the 2022 NFL Draft was with an eye toward him helping to solidify the position for years to come, but he struggled (a troubling trend from that draft class as a whole). Consider […]
The Vikings’ practice squad has received new significance under the leadership of GM Nolan Teasley. To be sure, the basic decision to lean on the talent there isn’t novel or original. What stands out is the forthright nature of the GM’s emphasis on the players who are too often forgotten. He is very outgoing in […]
The Minnesota Vikings return home to US Bank Stadium after a couple of weeks on the road. The Vikings remain unbeaten after winning in Tampa Bay to move to a 3-0 record. Next up is the winless Miami Dolphins. Know Your Enemy: Week 4 – Miami Dolphins Head Coach: Jeff Hafley Best Players: Malik Willis […]
At long last, the Vikings got their men. Note: multiple. Men, not man. For a little while, Kyle Van Noy has looked like an obvious promotion candidate. Minnesota burned through the three freebie elevations from the practice squad from Week 1 to Week 3. The time has now come for the Vikings to carve out […]
The Vikings traded away J.J. McCarthy, somebody who was deemed the franchise passer roughly two years ago. So, who is going to jump into that QB3 opening? The Vikings snagged Max Brosmer. Doing so involved a minor jump since he’s an in-house talent who has been on the practice squad. Tom Pelissero offered the news: […]
To my eye, the Minnesota media did a good job of sending questions to Kevin O’Connell in the aftermath of the J.J. McCarthy trade. Nobody there appeared interested in a knock ’em down, drag ’em out debate (at least based on assessing the tone). Rather, there was some candid questions for the head coach who […]
The next Vikings roster move is looking reasonably obvious. Moving on from J.J. McCarthy means adding an open roster spot (at some point, another quarterback needs to be added). Similarly, the biceps injury to TE Josh Oliver means seeing a roster spot open up, as well. At minimum, there’s going to be an addition along […]
